Dan and Cuddles



	I got home and thought about the things that Cuddles and I did. I thought about Cuddles every day. I missed her very much. One of the first things I did when I got back home was to design and build a barn. With help from some of my friends we not only built Cuddles a barn, we also built a fenced in corral and area for her to run. We worked on it from the beginning of April and finished just before I had to go back to my training with Cuddles in May. Now it is May 4th, 2001, I felt so excited. I had been waiting for this day for months. The day I got to go back to get Cuddles. I had not been able to sleep at night. I was like a child at Christmas. I knew when this day came it was going to be the beginning of a whole new journey, I couldn't wait for it to begin. Now I have to tell you, from the time I left Maine to the time we got back home was like a dream. I could not believe the wonderful things that were happening to me. I felt then as I do now, that I am truly blessed. God has given me a exceptional gift, as well as open my world again. When we finally got there and I saw Cuddles it felt so good. It felt like I had returned to an old friend. I bent down and gave her a hug and a kiss on the nose. I said Cuddles I have missed you so much, I hope we have a long life together and a lot of wonderful times as well. Cuddles and I trained together every day from morning until evening. We learned to work together. We learned how to do street crossings, we would go to the mall. I would ask Cuddles to find the escalator, she would seek it out until she found it then we would go up it. Then I would ask Cuddles to find the elevator and she would find it. Then I asked her to find the button on the elevator and she would point to it with her nose. The Burleson's training program was excellent, I was Not only trained in her guide commands. I was also given class's on the full anatomy of the horse from nose to tail. Then I had class's on Cuddles health care and grooming. Then I was given test's in all of the areas to make sure I had learned them.
