We went out side and I put Cuddles harness and halter on. I didn't put her sneakers on because she only needs them when we go on slippery surfaces. It is about a two and a half mile walk from my house to where I like to fish. It took us a little while to get there but the walk was nice and Don and Janet seemed to enjoy it. When we arrived there Don and Janet both commented on how beautiful it s there. It is a lake with lots of trees around it. There is a certain little cove I like to go to that is secluded, the birds sing and the squirrels chattering back and forth to each other. You can smell the pine and fir trees and hear the trickling of the water as it passes over a small dam. We stayed there about an hour or so and I knew that Cuddles and I would be coming back here a lot. Don and Janet stayed for a few days and worked with Cuddles and I around our local area. Don and Janet are two of the most wonderful people I have ever met. It was a pleasure having them at my house for those few days. They are days I will never forget. I am very happy our paths have crossed in this life and I will forever be in there debt. I am sure we will always be friends. The day after Don and Janet left Cuddles and I went back to our fishing spot by ourselves. It was another beautiful day in Maine. The birds were singing, Cuddles was just standing around grazing on some really nice thick grass by the lake. I caught my first fish and showed it to Cuddles, she just snorted at it and I laughed. Then while I was sitting there waiting to catch another I thought, wouldn't it be cool if I could teach Cuddles to tap on the ground once for a bass and twice for a trout. I sat there and laughed to myself and thought about the journey a head of us. |
